ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at whether an online clinic can help patients who have experienced Post-Intensive Care Syndrome (PICS) recover and improve their ability to perform everyday tasks. PICS can occur after spending time in the intensive care unit (ICU), especially if someone has needed a breathing machine (mechanical ventilation). The trial will involve a 12-month program where participants will receive support in areas like physical therapy, nutrition, mental health, and brain exercises, all through virtual sessions. Throughout the program, their progress will be tracked, and at the end, they will share their thoughts about their experience.
To be eligible for this trial, participants need to be over 18 years old, have been on a mechanical ventilator for at least 48 hours while in the ICU, and must have been discharged from the hospital within the last two months. However, people living in assisted living facilities, those unable to provide informed consent, those with severe illnesses, or individuals who may have trouble using digital tools may not qualify. This trial is not recruiting participants yet, but it aims to support individuals of all genders aged 65 to 74 who have faced challenges after their ICU stay.
