ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a treatment called uterine artery embolization for women who have a condition known as adenomyosis. Adenomyosis can cause symptoms like pelvic pain and heavy bleeding. The goal of the trial is to see if this minimally invasive procedure can help relieve these symptoms and serve as an alternative to a hysterectomy, which is a surgery to remove the uterus. After receiving the treatment, participants will be monitored for three months to assess their symptoms and will have an MRI of their pelvis to evaluate the results.
Women between the ages of 30 and 50 who are experiencing significant symptoms from adenomyosis and are not interested in having a hysterectomy may be eligible to participate. However, women who still want to have children, or who have certain medical conditions such as severe heart problems or kidney failure, will not be able to join the study. This trial is currently not yet recruiting participants, but it aims to provide new insights into managing adenomyosis effectively while avoiding major surgery.
