ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at how wearable technology, like fitness trackers, can help improve the recovery of patients who have had laparoscopic surgery for colorectal cancer. The main goal is to see if patients who are able to move around more easily after their surgery can get their bowel movements back to normal sooner, which is an important part of recovery.
To participate in this study, patients must have had laparoscopic surgery for colorectal cancer that is intended to cure the disease. Eligible patients are typically between the ages of 65 and 74 and should be able to walk after their surgery. Unfortunately, those who have had open surgeries, have an ostomy (a surgical opening), or are not able to walk are not eligible for this trial. If you choose to participate, you will be monitored using wearable technology during your recovery period until you are discharged from the hospital.
