ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying the use of a solution called povidone iodine (PI) during hip and knee replacement surgeries for patients with osteoarthritis. Povidone iodine is a liquid that helps prevent infections, but it contains iodine, which can be absorbed by the body. The researchers want to find out how much iodine is absorbed when this solution is used during these surgeries.
To participate in this trial, you need to be between the ages of 65 and 74 and have osteoarthritis that requires hip or knee surgery. However, if you have any thyroid problems or a history of thyroid disease, you won’t be eligible to join. If you decide to take part, you'll help doctors learn more about how this solution works, and your participation could contribute to improving care for future patients.
