ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is focused on developing a tool to help predict whether patients with visceral leishmaniasis (VL), a serious disease often found in certain regions of Ethiopia, might experience a relapse after treatment. The researchers will carefully observe and collect information from patients who are confirmed to have VL, looking at various factors that could influence their recovery. The goal is to improve patient care, reduce serious complications, and ensure better follow-up for those at risk of relapse.
To be eligible for this study, participants must be 12 years or older and have a confirmed diagnosis of VL. However, individuals who have already been on treatment for more than three days, are in a severe medical condition, are pregnant or breastfeeding, or have difficulty attending follow-up visits cannot participate. If you join the study, you can expect to be monitored closely throughout your treatment to help gather important information that could benefit future patients with VL.
