ClinConnect Summary
This is a prospective, observational study that will collect and analyze data from the Zoll 731 Series ventilator used by EMS crews before a patient reaches the hospital. The goal is to describe how often different ventilator modes and settings are used, and what kinds of alarms occur, so Zoll can develop automatic data transfer to a central system for feedback, reporting, and benchmarking of pre-hospital ventilation.
If you or your loved one is part of a participating EMS program and is being treated with a Zoll 731 Series ventilator (Release 5 or newer) and there is data recorded from the device, you may be eligible. The study includes children, adults, and older adults and does not involve healthy volunteers. Importantly, the study will not collect any patient outcome data, and participants are enrolled only when ventilator data is downloaded; there is no follow-up after that. Enrollment is by invitation and aims to include up to about 500 participants, with data collection happening across several U.S. locations. The study is sponsored by Zoll Medical Corporation, and individual patient data will not be shared publicly.
