ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at two different ways to access the blood vessels in the wrist to perform a procedure called coronary angiography, which helps doctors see how well the heart's arteries are working. The new approach, called distal transradial access (dTRA), uses a point in the wrist known as the anatomical snuffbox. Researchers want to see if this method is better than the traditional way of accessing the arteries in the wrist, especially for patients experiencing a heart attack (specifically, ST-Elevation Myocardial Infarction or STEMI). They hope to find out if the new method leads to fewer complications and faster recovery.
To participate in this trial, you need to be at least 18 years old and have been diagnosed with a heart attack. However, if you have certain conditions, like previous heart surgery or problems with your wrist arteries, you may not be eligible. If you join the study, you can expect to receive care related to your heart condition while contributing to research that could improve treatment options for future patients. The trial is currently recruiting participants, and both men and women are welcome to take part.
