ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial, titled "Family Intervention to Prevent Childhood Obesity," is focused on helping Latino families develop healthier habits to prevent obesity in young children. The study will test a program that combines in-person support, mobile phone resources, and cultural factors important to Latino communities. The goal is to encourage families to make better choices regarding sweetened drinks, screen time, and physical activity, ultimately reducing obesity and health risks in children aged 2 to 5 who are overweight.
To participate, adult caregivers of a young child must identify as Latino and care for a child who is overweight. They should speak either Spanish or English and be willing to engage in the intervention activities. Participants will be asked to complete some surveys before starting the program and again at various points afterward to measure the program's effectiveness. This trial is currently recruiting participants, and it aims to create a supportive environment that empowers families to foster healthier lifestyles for their children.
