ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is exploring new ways to help people recover from nerve injuries, specifically injuries to the median and ulnar nerves, which are important for feeling in the hand. Researchers are testing different training methods that use the brain's ability to adapt and change, called "plasticity." These methods include imagining touch, watching someone touch a surface, using mirrors to see movements, and visualizing touch through images. The goal is to create personalized training plans that are both motivating and effective for recovery.
To participate in this trial, individuals must be at least 18 years old and have suffered significant damage to the median or ulnar nerves, or a complete injury to specific finger nerves. However, people with cognitive impairments, certain psychiatric conditions, or those who cannot speak Swedish will not be eligible. Participants can expect to engage in various sensory training exercises designed to help improve their nerve function and overall recovery. This trial is currently recruiting participants, and it aims to refine these training methods to better support those with nerve injuries.
