ClinConnect Summary
The iAmHealthy Parents First trial is studying a program designed to help families in rural areas tackle obesity in children. The goal is to find out if a program that first focuses only on parents is more effective than one that includes both parents and children from the very beginning. Families that participate will learn strategies to promote healthy eating and active lifestyles.
To be eligible for this study, families should live in a rural area with a small population, and the child should be in the 1st to 5th grade with a higher-than-normal weight. Additionally, the parent should have a body mass index (BMI) in a certain range. Both the parent and child need to speak English, and they must be available to join the program sessions. Participants can expect to engage in interactive sessions that promote health and wellness, and they will receive support and guidance throughout the program. This trial is currently recruiting participants, so if you meet the criteria and are interested, it could be a great opportunity to help your family become healthier together.
