ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying whether giving antibiotics before certain dental procedures can help prevent a serious heart infection called infective endocarditis (IE) in patients who have prosthetic heart valves or a history of IE. Researchers want to see if taking these antibiotics can lower the chances of developing this infection after dental work. They will gather information from different health regions in France and analyze how dental practices might change as a result of the findings.
To be eligible for this study, participants need to be at least 18 years old and have either a prosthetic heart valve or a history of infective endocarditis. Dentists from various health territories will also be involved in the study. While the trial is not yet recruiting participants, those who join can expect to contribute to important research that could influence how dental care is provided to patients at risk for this infection.
