ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a new therapy called Brief Suicide and Trauma Therapy (BSTT), which aims to help people who are at risk of suicide, especially those who have experienced childhood trauma. The therapy combines skills to improve coping with suicidal thoughts and a focus on addressing the effects of trauma from childhood. The trial will last for 12 weeks and is designed for individuals who have a history of childhood trauma and are currently experiencing thoughts of suicide.
To participate in this study, individuals must meet certain criteria. They should have a score indicating significant suicidal thoughts, a history of childhood trauma, and any psychiatric diagnosis. Participants should also be able to understand and give consent for the therapy and should not be receiving any other psychotherapy during the trial. This study is currently not recruiting participants, and it is important to note that individuals with certain conditions, like severe cognitive impairment or active psychosis, cannot participate. If you or someone you know fits this description and is interested in learning more, it may be worth discussing it with a healthcare provider.
