ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial, called "Art as Healing," is exploring how an art-based program can help people affected by crime, including ex-offenders, heal from trauma and improve their reintegration into society in Nigeria. The study aims to understand if this Community-informed Art-based Programme (CiAbP) can positively change community attitudes towards ex-offenders and help them feel more accepted. Participants will be divided into two groups: one will participate in the CiAbP, which includes activities like storytelling, poetry, and drawing, while the other group will receive standard government messages without the art component. Researchers will compare the experiences and attitudes of both groups to see which approach is more effective.
To be eligible for this trial, participants should be at least 18 years old, live in areas like Lagos or Delta states, have experienced trauma, and be able to speak English. They will need to provide consent and participate in surveys before the program, after it ends, and again three months later to track any changes. This study is not yet recruiting participants, but it aims to help communities better understand and support those who have faced challenges related to crime and reintegration.
