ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is investigating how a treatment called Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS) might help improve both movement and thinking abilities in people who have had a stroke for a while (known as chronic stroke). Many individuals who have had a stroke experience difficulties with using their arms and may also face problems with memory and other thinking skills. This study aims to find out if TENS can make a positive difference in these areas. Researchers will also look at brain activity during the treatment to see how it affects participants.
To be eligible for this trial, participants should be between 50 and 80 years old, have had one stroke at least a year ago, and have some ability to move their affected arm. They should also have a good score on a simple mental test. The trial is currently looking for new participants, and those involved will have the chance to try this non-invasive treatment that could potentially help improve their quality of life. It’s important to note that individuals with certain medical devices, other serious health conditions, or skin issues near the treatment area cannot participate.
