ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial, titled "Patient Recall After Orthopedic Trauma," is looking at how education given to patients after surgery for bone injuries affects their understanding, adherence to treatment, and overall satisfaction with their care. The study will compare two groups: one group will receive education about their injury and treatment, while the other group will not receive this information. Researchers want to see if this education helps patients remember important details about their care and encourages them to follow the doctor's recommendations.
To be eligible for this trial, participants must have had a specific type of bone injury in the pelvis or lower leg that required surgery. Unfortunately, those who do not speak English, are currently incarcerated, or have certain cognitive issues like traumatic brain injuries or dementia cannot participate. If you choose to take part, you can expect to either receive helpful educational information or not receive it, and then researchers will check in with you about your knowledge, how well you’re following instructions, and how satisfied you feel about your overall care. This study aims to improve the way patients recover after surgery by understanding the importance of education in the healing process.
