ClinConnect Summary
The International Big Data Centre in Emergency Medicine study is looking to understand important factors related to emergency care by examining electronic health records. The main goals of this research are to find out how the length of time patients spend in the Emergency Department (ED) affects their chances of recovery or complications, and to identify risk factors that could lead to higher rates of serious outcomes for patients who stay longer in the ED. The study will also explore other questions that can help improve emergency medical care.
If you have ever visited the Emergency Department between 2011 and 2022, you might be eligible to be part of this study. All patients, regardless of age or gender, are welcome, but those who have missing information about their age, gender, or initial assessment may not be included. Participants won’t need to do anything extra for this study; researchers will simply use the existing health records to gather information. This research aims to enhance our understanding of emergency medicine and ultimately improve patient care in the future.
