ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at two different surgical approaches for treating stress urinary incontinence in women. Stress urinary incontinence is when a woman leaks urine during activities like coughing, sneezing, or exercising. The study is comparing the standard laparoscopic Burch colposuspension, which has been used for a long time, to a modified version that uses a technique similar to a transobturator tape. The goal is to see which method has a higher success rate and fewer complications.
To participate in the trial, women aged 65 to 74 who have genuine stress urinary incontinence or mixed incontinence (with more stress than urge symptoms) may be eligible, especially if previous conservative treatments haven’t worked for them. However, women with certain conditions, recent pelvic surgeries, or other specific health issues won’t be able to join. If you decide to participate, you can expect to undergo one of the two surgical procedures, and the study will follow your progress to see how well the treatment works. This trial is currently recruiting participants, so it's a great opportunity for those looking for solutions to their urinary incontinence.
