ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is investigating new treatment options for women suffering from chronic cervicogenic headaches, which are headaches caused by issues in the neck. The study aims to compare the effects of two approaches: a combination of hands-on therapy called osteopathic manipulative treatment (OMT) and specific neck exercises, against standard medical care alone. Researchers hope to find that the treatment group experiences fewer headaches in terms of how often they occur, how intense they feel, and how long they last, compared to those who only receive standard care.

To participate in this study, women aged 18 to 75 who have been diagnosed with chronic cervicogenic headaches may be eligible, provided they do not have certain medical conditions or recent neck injuries. Participants will receive either the new combined treatment or standard care, and they can expect to undergo assessments of their headaches and neck-related symptoms throughout the study. This trial is particularly important because it seeks to understand the specific muscle issues that may contribute to these headaches, aiming to provide better, targeted treatments for women suffering from this condition.
