ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is exploring a new way to support mothers who want to exclusively breastfeed their babies, especially those who are working. Exclusive breastfeeding is very important for the health and growth of both mothers and their children. In this study, researchers will develop and test a mobile health program that uses technology, like smartphones, to provide counseling and support for breastfeeding mothers at a hospital in Naivasha, Kenya. The goal is to see if this program can help mothers get the information and encouragement they need to successfully breastfeed.

To participate in this trial, mothers must be over 18 years old, working in certain jobs (like education, healthcare, or tourism), and living in the Naivasha area. They also need to receive healthcare for themselves and their children at the Naivasha sub-County Referral Hospital. However, mothers with babies who have certain health conditions that make breastfeeding difficult will not be eligible. For those who join, they can expect to receive helpful information and support through their mobile devices, making it easier for them to navigate breastfeeding while managing their work commitments.
