ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is testing a new program designed to help improve the eating habits and food access for Hispanic and Latino adults in San Diego, California. Many people in this community face challenges like food insecurity, which means they don’t always have enough healthy food to eat. Even though they often have risk factors for heart disease, they surprisingly have lower heart disease death rates. The study aims to see if a program that provides education about nutrition and helps participants access better food can make a difference in their diet quality and overall health.
To participate in this study, you need to be Hispanic or Latino, live full-time in San Diego County, and have a household income at or below 200% of the federal poverty line. If you join, you will fill out some questionnaires before and after the program. You will also take part in activities that teach you about nutrition and help you access healthy foods. This is a great opportunity for eligible individuals to gain valuable knowledge and skills to improve their health and well-being.
