ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at different ways to help patients with Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS), a serious condition that affects breathing. Specifically, the study is comparing two types of mechanical ventilation strategies: one that is based on a measurement called transpulmonary pressure, and another that follows a traditional approach known as lung protective ventilation. The goal is to see which method better protects the right side of the heart while treating ARDS.
To participate in this trial, individuals need to be at least 18 years old and have been on mechanical ventilation for less than 72 hours, while also meeting specific criteria for ARDS. However, some people may not be eligible if they have had certain types of surgeries, severe lung issues, or other serious health conditions. For those who join, they can expect close monitoring and care as they receive one of the two ventilation strategies being tested. This trial is currently recruiting participants, and it aims to improve treatment for patients facing this challenging condition.
