ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is investigating how the way older adults think about their movements affects their ability to stay balanced and use their muscles effectively, especially when standing in challenging situations. The researchers are particularly interested in older adults who are at risk of falling, as understanding these factors can help improve rehabilitation programs aimed at preventing falls. The study will take place in Hong Kong and aims to gather information that could lead to better strategies for helping older adults maintain their balance.
To participate in this study, individuals need to be 65 years or older and be able to stand on their own without any walking aids. Those with serious health issues, such as a history of strokes or neurological disorders, or who have experienced a major fall in the past year, will not be eligible. Participants can expect to be involved in tasks that test their balance and movement in different standing conditions. The findings from this research could ultimately lead to improved fall prevention programs and better support for older adults in maintaining their independence.
