ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial, titled "Changes of Soft Tissue Grafting: A Randomized Study," is looking at new ways to treat gum recession, a condition where the gums pull away from the teeth, exposing the roots. The usual treatment involves taking tissue from the roof of a patient's mouth and placing it where the gums have receded. However, some patients may not want to go through another surgery or use donor tissue from others. This study is exploring the use of a special membrane made from the patient’s own blood as an alternative treatment option.

To be eligible for the trial, participants need to be at least 18 years old and have gum recession that requires treatment at two or more sites in their mouth. Certain conditions, like smoking or being pregnant, will exclude individuals from participating. Those who join the study will help researchers understand if using this blood-derived membrane can effectively treat gum recession while avoiding the need for additional surgical sites. This is an exciting opportunity for patients who are looking for a less invasive way to improve their gum health!
