ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how effective chest ultrasound is in telling apart pneumonia from lung congestion in critically ill adults. The researchers want to see if using ultrasound can help doctors make better diagnoses and follow-up decisions for patients who are experiencing these conditions. This is important because both pneumonia and lung congestion can cause similar symptoms, and distinguishing between them can lead to better treatment outcomes.
To participate in this study, you need to be an adult over 18 years old and have symptoms that suggest you might have pneumonia or acute congestive heart failure. You should also be admitted to a critical care unit. However, if you have lung congestion caused by kidney problems, you won’t be eligible for this trial. If you join the study, you can expect to undergo chest ultrasound examinations as part of your care, and your responses to these tests will help improve the understanding and treatment of these serious conditions.
