ClinConnect Summary

The CAPNOS Project is a clinical trial that aims to understand how temperature affects the way carbon dioxide (CO2) moves through the skin. This is particularly important for developing a new type of sensor that can measure CO2 levels in patients with conditions like Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), where monitoring CO2 is essential. Currently, existing sensors have several drawbacks, such as needing frequent calibration, which can be inconvenient and costly. The study will help researchers learn more about how CO2 behaves in the body, which could lead to better monitoring tools in the future.

To participate in this trial, you need to be a healthy adult between the ages of 18 and 80, without any skin problems at the measurement sites. You'll also need to be able to give your written consent to join the study. If you take specific medications that affect blood flow, or if you have any skin conditions like eczema, you won't be eligible. If you decide to take part, you can expect a safe environment where researchers will gather important information about how temperature impacts CO2 levels in the skin, ultimately aiming to improve health monitoring for patients in need.
