ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying the causes of myopia, commonly known as nearsightedness, in primary and secondary school students in Tianjin. Researchers are looking at how different factors, like daily eye habits and vision tests, might influence the development of myopia in children. They will follow a group of 200 children from grades 1 to 3, including those with healthy vision, nearsightedness, and those who are farsighted, for three years.
To participate, children need to be in grades 1-3 and able to cooperate during the vision examinations. However, those with certain eye conditions, like strabismus (crossed eyes) or serious eye diseases, cannot take part in the study. Participants will undergo various eye tests every six months and answer questions about their daily activities related to eye health. This research aims to better understand how myopia develops so that effective prevention strategies can be created.
