ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial, called "Journey of Hope-C19," is focused on helping children who have experienced emotional distress due to the COVID-19 pandemic and other significant disasters. The study aims to see if a special program can prevent behavioral health issues, such as problems with feelings and relationships, in children from racial and ethnic minority backgrounds living in low-income communities. By providing support and coping skills, the researchers hope to promote better mental health and social connections among these children.
To participate, children need to be in 3rd to 8th grade and should have felt the impact of the pandemic and another major disaster. They also need to show some emotional challenges, as indicated by a questionnaire. It's important that children can communicate in English or Spanish. However, those currently receiving treatment for mental health issues or unable to work in groups cannot join. If eligible, participants can expect to learn valuable skills and receive support in a group setting while contributing to important research that could help other children in similar situations.
