ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying the use of a medication called intranasal dexmedetomidine to help children relax before they undergo a common surgery called adenotonsillectomy, which involves removing the tonsils and adenoids. The trial focuses on children aged 3 to 10 years who have recently had a mild upper respiratory infection or asthma. The goal is to see if this medication can make the experience of going under general anesthesia safer and more comfortable for kids who may have some breathing issues.
To be eligible for this study, children must be in generally good health but may have mild respiratory conditions. However, children will not be able to participate if they are experiencing a more serious infection or have certain other health issues, such as heart problems or liver disease. If your child is part of this study, they will receive the medication before their surgery, and the researchers will monitor their response. This trial is currently looking for participants, and it's a great opportunity to contribute to understanding how to improve care for children undergoing this type of surgery.
