ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial, titled "Structure and Function of Retinal Disease," is exploring a new type of electronic camera that aims to take clearer and more detailed images of the retina, the light-sensitive layer at the back of the eye. Currently, standard cameras used in eye exams don't provide enough detail to see individual retinal cells, which can be important for understanding and treating retinal diseases. The study is looking for participants aged 65 to 74 who have certain types of retinal diseases, specifically inherited retinal degeneration or retinal toxicity.
If you're considering joining this study, you would need to have one of these retinal conditions. However, you wouldn't be eligible if you have certain eye problems, like cloudy vision from cataracts or a very high prescription for glasses, as these could affect the results. Participants in the study will help researchers assess how well this new camera works, which could lead to better ways to diagnose and treat retinal diseases in the future. If you decide to take part, you’ll be contributing to important advancements in eye care!
