ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at how taking daily fiber supplements might change the microorganisms in the colon, known as the mucosal microbiome. These tiny organisms play a crucial role in our health, and certain types can be linked to the development of polyps, which are abnormal growths that can sometimes lead to colon cancer. By adding more fiber to the diet, researchers hope to see if it can help prevent these precancerous polyps from forming in the first place.
To participate in this trial, you need to be at least 18 years old and be willing to sign a consent form. The study is open to anyone who has issues like hemorrhoids or anal fissures but does not have serious conditions like cancer or inflammatory bowel disease. If you join the study, you will be monitored while taking the fiber supplements, and the team will check how your gut health is affected. It's an exciting opportunity to contribute to research that could help prevent colon cancer in the future!
