ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is exploring how different types of exercise can improve sleep quality for people with Parkinson's disease. Researchers want to see if cardiovascular exercise (like running or biking), resistance training (like weight lifting), or a combination of both can help participants sleep better and feel better overall. The study will involve individuals with mild to moderate Parkinson's disease who have been struggling with sleep issues. Participants will take part in the exercise program three times a week for 12 weeks, while some will be on a waiting list as a control group.
To be eligible for this study, participants must have a confirmed diagnosis of Parkinson's disease and have been stable on their medication for at least a month. They also need to have poor sleep quality, as measured by a specific questionnaire. However, individuals with certain conditions like severe sleep apnea or other neurological issues won’t be able to participate. Throughout the trial, researchers will assess participants' sleep and quality of life before, right after, and two months after the exercise program to see if there are any positive changes. This is an exciting opportunity to potentially improve sleep and overall well-being through exercise!
