ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how certain common health conditions—specifically hypertension (high blood pressure), diabetes, and dyslipidemia (abnormal cholesterol levels)—affect the tiny blood vessels in the eyes. Researchers will use a special imaging technique called optical coherence tomography angiography (OCTA) to look at these blood vessels more closely. This method is helpful because it can provide clear, measurable results without any discomfort to the patients. Over the course of five years, participants will have their health monitored yearly, including various tests and exams to see how their eye health relates to their overall cardiovascular health.
To be eligible for this study, participants should have one of the following conditions: hypertension, diabetes, or dyslipidemia. They need to be willing to take part in the research. However, individuals with certain other serious health issues, like cancer or autoimmune diseases, cannot participate. This study aims to better understand the relationship between eye health and wider cardiovascular issues, which could help improve care for patients with these common internal diseases.
