ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how obesity, measured by body mass index (BMI) and waist size, affects heart health in patients with a condition called dilated cardiomyopathy (DCMP). DCMP is a type of heart disease that makes it hard for the heart to pump blood. Researchers want to understand if being overweight influences the outcomes for patients, particularly in an Asian population. The study is currently looking for participants who were newly diagnosed with DCMP between January 2015 and December 2020, and anyone over the age of 20 can join.
If you or a family member are interested in participating, you would be part of a larger group that helps researchers gather important information about this connection between obesity and heart health. It’s important to note that individuals with certain other heart diseases or conditions, like thyroid problems or cancer, are not eligible for this study. Participating may involve follow-up appointments and assessments to track your health over time. This study aims to provide valuable insights that could improve care for patients with DCMP.
