ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial, called the Effect of Music Therapy in Mental Subhealth (EMTMS), is studying how music therapy can help people who are experiencing depression and anxiety, especially in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. Not everyone with mental health concerns needs medication, and this study is exploring whether listening to relaxing music can help improve mood and reduce feelings of stress and anxiety. The trial includes two groups: one group receives music therapy right away, while the other group waits to receive the therapy after the first group.
To participate in this study, individuals must be between the ages of 58 and 127 years old and have a certain level of depression or anxiety, as measured by specific questionnaires. However, those with severe psychiatric conditions or who are having thoughts of harming themselves are not eligible. Participants can expect to engage in music therapy sessions along with some regular activities, with data being collected by trained professionals to assess the effectiveness of the therapy. This research aims to show that music therapy could be a helpful option for improving mental health.
