ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is examining how a 6-month lifestyle intervention can improve fitness and immune function in patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) stages 3 to 5. The study will involve 120 participants who will receive support from a team of healthcare professionals, including doctors and dietitians. Participants will have two options for exercise: one involves supervised workouts at a center followed by home exercises, while the other includes regular training at a hospital. Throughout the trial, participants' fitness levels and overall well-being will be assessed multiple times to see how the intervention impacts their health.
To participate, you must be a patient with CKD in stages 3 to 5 and have been on dialysis for at least 6 months, with your doctor’s approval. You should also be stable during dialysis and have no serious health issues that would prevent you from exercising. This study is currently recruiting participants of all genders aged 18 and older, and it's designed to help understand if such lifestyle changes can significantly improve physical fitness, quality of life, and immune health for those living with CKD.
