ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a new method for helping doctors align patients during radiation treatment for prostate cancer. Specifically, the trial is looking at whether a special gel called SpaceOAR Vue® can be used instead of tiny markers, known as fiducial markers, to achieve the same level of accuracy when targeting the cancer. The researchers believe that using this gel will work just as well for positioning patients before treatment.
To participate in this study, men must either have already had the SpaceOAR gel and fiducial markers placed or have plans to have them placed before starting radiation therapy. Additionally, they should have untreated prostate cancer classified as cT1 to cT3, which means their cancer is still contained within the prostate. However, those with certain types of advanced cancer or who have previously undergone prostate surgery cannot join the trial. If eligible, participants can expect to contribute to important research that could improve treatment methods for prostate cancer in the future.
