ClinConnect Summary
The CALERIE™ Legacy Study is a follow-up research project aimed at understanding the long-term effects of calorie restriction on health and wellness. This study is looking for participants who were part of the earlier CALERIE trial, which ran from 2007 to 2011, to see how their health has been impacted by their participation. The study is open to individuals aged 12 to 25 years and is currently recruiting participants of all genders.
To be eligible for this study, you must have been enrolled in the original CALERIE trial and started either the calorie restriction group or the control group. Participants will need to visit a clinical site in person and give their consent to take part. However, those who are pregnant, recently gave birth, have active cancer, or have been advised not to participate in future research from the original trial cannot join. If you decide to participate, you can expect to contribute to important research that may help improve our understanding of how dietary choices affect health over time.
