ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking into how HIV spreads in Ethiopia, particularly in areas where many people are living with the virus. The researchers want to find out if people who are not successfully treated with antiretroviral therapy (medications that help manage HIV) are helping the virus to spread, or if the transmission mainly occurs among those who have never received treatment. They will also investigate if drug-resistant forms of the virus are being passed on from individuals who are on therapy but are not achieving viral suppression (where the virus is not being controlled).
To participate in this study, individuals must have a positive HIV test and give their written consent. The trial is open to everyone aged 18 and older, regardless of gender. Participants can expect to have their viral genetic information analyzed and will be grouped based on their treatment history. This study aims to gather important information that can help improve HIV treatment and prevention strategies in the future.
