ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at the risk factors that can lead to bowel problems in young children who have had surgery for Hirschsprung disease, a condition that affects how the intestines work. Bowel dysfunction, which includes issues like constipation and incontinence, is a common problem for these children and can continue into adulthood, affecting their social lives and overall well-being. The goal of this study is to better understand why some children experience these issues after their surgery so that healthcare providers can offer better support and treatment.
To participate in this trial, children need to have a confirmed diagnosis of Hirschsprung disease and should have completed toilet training. However, children who have had a redo surgery for Hirschsprung disease or have other conditions like Down syndrome that might affect their bowel function are not eligible. If your child participates, they will help researchers identify important factors related to bowel health, which could lead to better outcomes for children with this condition in the future. The study is currently recruiting participants, so if you think your child may qualify, it could be a great opportunity to contribute to important research.
