ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial, called "My Mobile Wallet," is focused on helping people in rural Uganda stick to their tuberculosis (TB) treatment plan. The researchers are testing a new tool called My Mobile Wallet, which uses mobile phone technology to remind and support patients in taking their TB medications. They want to find out how well this tool works compared to the usual care patients receive. The study will last for six months, and the team will look at how effective My Mobile Wallet is in encouraging people to take their medicine as prescribed.
To participate in this trial, you need to be at least 18 years old, newly diagnosed with TB, and currently live in the Mbarara District of Uganda. You should also own a mobile phone and be willing to provide a small sample of hair for testing during the study. If you have a severe mental condition that affects your ability to understand or agree to participate, or if you cannot use mobile money-based messages, you would not be eligible. If you join, you can expect to use the My Mobile Wallet tool to help you remember your medications while also being part of important research that could improve treatment for others with TB in the future.
