ClinConnect Summary

The Bicuspid Echocardiac Study Team (BEST) is a clinical trial focused on understanding Bicuspid Aortic Valve Disease, a heart condition where the aortic valve has an unusual shape that can lead to various health issues. This study will involve around 200 patients from more than 30 hospitals across China. Researchers will collect information about the patients' health, ultrasound images of their hearts, and their treatment for two years. The goal is to learn more about the long-term outcomes for these patients, including serious issues like heart failure or the need for surgery, and to create a database that can help improve future treatments.

To participate in this study, patients must have been diagnosed with Bicuspid Aortic Valve Disease through ultrasound or other imaging tests. However, those with a normal aortic valve or significant valve damage, as well as individuals who are not in good health or do not agree to participate, will not be included. Participants can expect regular follow-ups and assessments that will help doctors understand how this condition affects patients over time, ultimately contributing to better care and treatment plans.
