ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at a new way to help relieve chronic shoulder pain caused by osteoarthritis. Researchers want to see if using a device called the Sprint PNS system, which delivers small amounts of electricity to the nerves in the shoulder, can reduce pain. This device is approved by the FDA for use up to 60 days and is designed to help with both chronic and acute pain.
To participate in this study, you need to be diagnosed with degenerative changes in your shoulder. Unfortunately, if your pain is only in the front of the shoulder, or if you are taking opioids for reasons other than shoulder pain, you won't be eligible. The trial is open to both men and women aged 70 and older. If you join, you can expect to use the electrical stimulation device for some time and be monitored for its effects on your pain. This could be an opportunity to find relief if traditional treatments haven’t worked for you.
