ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is focused on improving the lives of adolescents with epilepsy in Uganda. The main goal is to create a community program that helps young people and their families better understand epilepsy, reduce stigma, and improve overall health. Researchers will work closely with the participants and community members to design activities that are culturally relevant and scientifically sound. They will measure how these programs affect people’s attitudes and beliefs about epilepsy, using surveys to see if there is a positive change after the program is implemented.
To participate in this study, adolescents aged 10 to 18 who live in Wakiso district, Uganda, and have a confirmed diagnosis of epilepsy are eligible. Participants must be able to provide written agreement to take part in the study and have a caregiver who can consent on their behalf. Those who are interested will engage in various program activities aimed at raising awareness and reducing stigma associated with epilepsy. It’s important to note that this study is not yet recruiting participants, so there will be more details available once it officially begins.
