ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a new way to measure how well doctors control the tip of an endoscope, which is a tool used to look inside the digestive tract and remove polyps (small growths that can lead to cancer). The goal is to validate a new scoring system that helps assess the skills of endoscopists, particularly when they are using a technique called snare tip soft coagulation. This technique involves applying thermal energy to the edges of a polyp removal site to prevent any growth from coming back. The trial is taking place at the University Hospital Ghent in Belgium.
Eligible participants include both endoscopists who perform these procedures and patients over 18 years old who need this specific type of treatment. During the trial, endoscopists will perform the procedure while their tip control is evaluated using the new scoring system. This tool will help improve the training of doctors and, ultimately, the care patients receive during polyp removal. If you or someone you know is interested in participating, it's important to note that all participants need to agree to take part in the study.
