ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial, called "COPD at a Street Level," is focused on understanding how common Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) is among people who are socially vulnerable, such as those living in shelters or frequenting areas with high drug use. The study will involve a mobile clinic that travels to these locations in the Capital Region of Denmark. Researchers want to see if screening for COPD in these individuals can help improve their treatment and reduce hospital visits and deaths related to the disease. They believe that people in these situations may have a higher rate of COPD compared to the general population.
To participate in this study, you need to be at least 18 years old and able to speak and understand either Danish or English well enough to give informed consent. Unfortunately, if you do not have a Danish civil registration number, you won't be eligible since this prevents foreign patients from receiving free medical care and follow-up. If you join the study, you can expect to be monitored for up to a year, with the goal of gathering important information that could lead to better health outcomes for people living with COPD in vulnerable communities.
