ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying two different methods of pain relief after a specific type of breast surgery called a thoracodorsal artery perforator flap following a partial mastectomy. The researchers want to see which method—called the rhomboid intercostal block or the serratus anterior plane block—works better to help manage postoperative (after surgery) pain. Both techniques use ultrasound (a type of imaging) to guide the injection of medication that numbs the area.
To participate in this trial, individuals need to be between 21 and 60 years old and scheduled for the specific breast surgery mentioned. They should also be in good overall health, without serious heart or lung conditions, and should not be taking certain medications like blood thinners or have allergies to local anesthesia. If eligible, participants can expect to receive one of the two pain relief methods, and their recovery experience will be monitored to see how effective the pain management is. This study is currently looking for volunteers who meet these criteria.
