ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how a new policy for buying healthy foods can change what people eat in public places like schools, hospitals, and care homes in four municipalities in Bagmati Province, Nepal. Researchers noticed that many chronic diseases are linked to unhealthy eating habits, which often happen because unhealthy foods are too available. By creating and implementing a healthy food procurement policy, they hope to improve the food options available in these facilities and make healthier choices easier for everyone.
To participate in the study, individuals need to be canteen managers or staff who are involved in buying and serving food at government or private schools, hospitals, worksites, or care facilities within the selected municipalities. They should be between the ages of 15 and 59 and able to communicate verbally. Participants can expect to help evaluate the impact of the new policy over three months, allowing researchers to see if the food environment improves and if healthier food choices become more common. It’s important to note that anyone who decides they do not want to be part of the study can choose to opt out at any time.
