ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a new way to help improve surgery for a condition called hypospadias, where the opening of the urethra (the tube that carries urine) is not located at the tip of the penis. The researchers want to see if using a special glue-like substance called fibrin sealant can help keep the surgical area secure and reduce complications, instead of using a more complex method involving tissue flaps. This study is currently recruiting boys aged between 91 days and 6 years old who have not had any previous treatment for hypospadias.
To be eligible for the trial, participants must be children with hypospadias who have never been treated for this condition before. Unfortunately, older patients, those with repeated cases, or individuals who have had prior injuries or radiation in the pelvic area cannot participate. If a child joins the study, families can expect careful monitoring during and after the surgery to assess the effectiveness of the fibrin sealant in improving healing and reducing problems after surgery. This trial aims to find a simpler and safer approach to treating hypospadias, which could benefit many young boys in the future.
