ClinConnect Summary
The clinical trial titled "A Case Series: TRUMATCH Graft Cage for Segmental Long Bone Defects" is studying a new surgical method for repairing serious bone injuries in the humerus (upper arm), femur (thigh), or tibia (shin). This trial is looking for adults aged 18 and older who have a significant bone defect that requires surgery. Participants will receive a special device called the TRUMATCH Graft Cage to help fix their injury. Over three years, researchers will track how well the bone heals, any complications that arise, the need for further surgeries, the time it takes to return to normal activities, and the levels of pain experienced.
To be eligible for this study, patients must have a specific type of bone defect that needs surgical repair and be treated at UCSD. They should also be able to understand the information given to them about the study. However, those with severe health issues, pregnant women, or individuals who have recently participated in a different medical study may not qualify. If you decide to participate, you will be contributing valuable information that could help improve treatments for these challenging injuries.
