Adhesive Capsulitis Steroid Injection Ultrasound Guided

ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying the effectiveness of two different methods of injecting steroids to treat a condition called adhesive capsulitis, also known as frozen shoulder. The researchers want to find out if injecting steroids around the shoulder joint (anterior extra-articular) is more effective or if injecting them directly into the joint (posterior intra-articular) works better. Both methods are commonly used, but there is still some confusion about which is the best approach for patients.

To participate in this trial, you need to be between 18 and 75 years old and have been diagnosed with adhesive capsulitis through both a physical exam and imaging tests. Unfortunately, if you have a tear in your shoulder tendons, have had a steroid injection in your shoulder before, or have had serious shoulder injuries, you won't be eligible to join. If chosen to participate, you can expect to receive one of the two types of steroid injections and be monitored for changes in your shoulder pain and mobility. This trial aims to provide clearer answers on how to best treat this condition.
